Job Summary & Deliverables
The Medical Support Specialist (MSS) assists the treatment team by coordinating patient care with medical and clinical staff to ensure the timely delivery of ancillary services.
- Coordinates with treatment team and support employees to communicate with patients and family, to answer questions, assist with appointments, educate about the care they are receiving, and generally act as a first-line resource for patients and their supports.
- Coordinates with case managers to ensure patients attend their medical and clinical appointments.
- Coordinates with the treatment team to ensure that necessary paperwork and medical records are completed.
- Coordinates with MSS staff to ensure coverage at the unit.
- Responds to and manages phone communications with MSS team and clients.
- Provides leadership, mentoring, and general guidance for other treatment team members.
- Demonstrates flexibility when temporarily assigned to other clinics.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of ValleyAcademy.
Experience
- None - see Preferred Qualifications.
Licenses/Certifications
- CPR certification.
- Valley de-escalation certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of medical experience.
